The Wedding Lens

For a little while now I’ve been suggesting that instead of disposable cameras we have our guests bring digital cameras and buy a bunch of cheap SD cards for them. Turns out – there’s a whole website that beat me to the punch!
I was browsing through Project Wedding for photographers and found The Wedding Lens. This site enables people to upload their pictures of the wedding into one sharable album! It’s like a social flikr.
The only downside is the price: you can get a free album – but it won’t let you download full res images. The full res images access is $49.99/yr. I imagine we’ll probably do it – it would let poeple upload photos using their own SD cards rather than having to buy a million 1GB cards.
Either way – it sure would be a lot cheaper than disposable cameras.
One of the reviews from BridalWave: “I’m sure a significant number of your guests will have digital cameras at the ready to snap some pics of your wedding. But how do you get to see and share the pictures without a lengthy visit and uploading session with all your friends? By trying a site like The Wedding Lens!”
Sounds good to me! Our page is going to be at http://awesomegrand.theweddinglens.com/

Just wanted to let you know that in addition to allowing bulk downloads of the full resolution photos, a premium album also lets you do video uploads so people can show off the random video clips they captured on their digital cameras.
Let me know if you have any questions!
